1. After unpacking Bench Scales, remove rubber stops from holes in top of housing and dispose of them. They are placed there to stop the load cell being damaged in transit.
2. Switch off. Press and hold [SAMPLE] key. Press [ON] key. Release [SAMPLE] key.
3. Display shows internal count, approximately 8,000. To adjust, use trimmer pot VR1 through the left hand side of the housing. This pot is connected with three wires to the A/D converter board. The display will show [Count XXXXX].
4. Press [SET A/B] key. The display shows the scale capacity [C XX].
5. Press [SET A/B] key again. The display shows the graduation [d XX]. To change this value, press the [SAMPLE] key.
6. Press [SET A/B] key again. The display shows [L 000]. Remove everything from plate to set zero point and make sure scale is stable.
7. Press [SET A/B] key again. Display shows [L XXX], the weight to be used for calibration. This can be altered by pressing the [SAMPLE] key. Place calibration weight on plate.
8. Press [SET A/B] key again. If the weight is insufficient the scale will display [CALIb] and return to 7 to ask for a heavier calibration weight.
9. If the weight is acceptable the display will show [CALIb] then count down from 5 to 1 and display the calibrated weight value.
10. Calibration is complete and the scale will return to normal weighing mode.
11. Please note: this is a battery operated scale. Avoid continuous mains operation as this may damage the battery and/or the charger. If mains operation is required switch scale on first, then plug adaptor in and connect to mains. If the scale is not fully charged and this precaution is not taken then the scale may not operate. If required, the scale can be converted to mains only operation by adapting the electronics
